November 1, 2004 - French cable provider Numericable has selected Motive Inc. to provide software for broadband service automation and subscriber self-management. Numericable, which counts 830,000 customers, will use the Motive solution to support its offerings of broadband Internet speed tiers, public WiFi access and television over IP. Specifically, Numericable has licensed Motive's Broadband Manager (BBM) and Customer Service Manager (CSM) products.

In other news, Motive introduced Motive Edge Device Manager, a new product for configuring and managing residential gateways. The solution automates firmware updates, configuration management, remote diagnostics and application monitoring. The product is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2005.
